1 – Compose a list of questions regarding your loan program

Be sure to bring a list of questions with you if you find that you don't totally grasp the advantages and disadvantages of all the different programs. It can be a challenge to know the differences between both fixed and adjustable rate mortgages. 2 – Determine when you want to lock

When you lock in a rate, it denotes that the mortgage lender holds to the mortgage interest rates for the loan – commonly at the time the loan application is sent in. By floating the rate, you can lock the rate anytime between application and at the time of closing. Those who decide to float conclude the interest rates will decline in the near future. 3 – Decide if you want to pay additional points to reduce your rate

4 – Bring your paperwork
