One of the oldest forms of family entertainment, puppets offer a magical, fun-filled experience on a Saturday afternoon for your little ones. The Columbia Marionette Theatre was founded in 1988 by Allie Scollon and her son, John, as a non-profit organization. In 1995, the theatre was moved to its current location on Laurel Street in a beautiful building designed specifically as a puppet theatre.
The theatre offers many opportunities for your child to enjoy a puppet show. Have your child’s next birthday party there with four themes to pick from: Land of Oz, Dino Park, Undersea Kingdom and Medieval Castle. The theatre also has traveling shows and will bring the puppets to you! There are many different shows to pick from such as educational programs, Litter Trashes Everyone, and classic tales, Cinderella and Rumplestiltskin, and so many more. The puppet shows at the theatre change every few months. Currently, Dino Tales is playing and Aladdin premieres at the end of September.
Located at 401 Laurel Street, the theatre has two shows on Saturday and one show every third Monday of each month. Tickets are only $5.00 apiece and children two and under are free. For more information, please visit http://www.cmtpuppet.org/index.html.
