Neurology residency program earns   accreditation

The four-year   accreditation allows USC School of Medicine’s department of neurology,   Palmetto Health Richland Hospital and Wm. Jennings Bryan Dorn VA Medical   Center to develop a neurology residency program that provides comprehensive   training for future physicians. The program becomes only the second   accredited neurology residency program in South Carolina.

University Associates names   officers

Pamela P. Lackey,   president of AT&T South Carolina, has been elected president of the   University of South Carolina’s University Associates for 2012-2013. The   organization is made up of Midlands-area professional leaders who support USC.

MUSC ranked No. 5 among most   popular med schools

The Medical University of   South Carolina was ranked No. 5 on a U.S.   News and World Report short list of the most popular medical   schools in the country. The medical university accepted 220 applicants and   170 of those students enrolled for the 2011-2012 school year.
