I-26 to be widened in Lexington,   Calhoun counties

The S.C. Department of   Transportation is seeking letters of interest from design-build contractors   for the widening and resurfacing of 21 miles of the segment between Columbia   and Orangeburg. The 10-mile stretch between mile marker 115 at U.S. 321 to   exit 125 at Sandy Run will be widened to six lanes.

McLeod Health joins BlueChoice   Medicaid network

The multiyear agreement   allows for Medicaid members of the BlueChoice HealthPlan of South Carolina to   receive in-network benefits at McLeod Health’s five hospitals and physician   associates offices in the Pee Dee region.

NAI Avant names new CFO

As CFO, Traci Tasca will   oversee all accounting and human resources for NAI Avant’s Columbia and   Charleston offices. She has more than 20 years of experience in commercial   real estate accounting, financial management and risk management.

Sopakco wins $6.5M defense   contract

Under the Defense   Department agreement, the Mullins-based company will provide various snack   items to U.S. Army soldiers. Sopakco Packaging serves commercial packaging   industries and also manufactures Meals-Ready-to-Eat, or MREs, for troops.

Candidates sought for   beautification commission

The mission of the   Columbia Tree and Appearance Commission is to protect, enhance and promote   the city of Columbia’s natural resources and visual beauty. The deadline to   apply for the open seat is July 23. The term of office is three years.
