Park Sterling reverses   year-earlier loss in Q2

The integration of an   acquired S.C. bank helped Park Sterling Corp. reverse a year-earlier loss   into a $678,000 net income for the second quarter. The bank reported a big   jump in assets and loans from a year ago. Park Sterling operates 19 branches   in South Carolina.

Federal disaster loans available   to S.C. businesses

Businesses across the   state are eligible to apply for federal disaster loans up to $2 million, with   interest rates of 3% for nonprofits and 4% for small businesses. The loans   may be used to pay bills that could have been paid had the drought not   occurred.

AGY to sell CFM business in   Pennsylvania

The Aiken-based company   says the proposed sale should allow it to focus on its specialty materials   products. AGY produces fiberglass yarns and high-strength fiberglass   reinforcements for composites.

Ameris Bancorp reports net income   up 18% for Q2

Moultrie, Ga.-based   Ameris Bancorp said net income for the second quarter reached $1.7 million,   compared with $1.3 million for the second quarter of 2011. Total revenue   increased about 18% to $37.8 million, compared with $32.1 million in the   second quarter of 2011.

Aldinger promoted in   WebsterRogers’ tax practice

Darin Aldinger will be   senior manager in the company’s Columbia office. He specializes in   international tax consulting, planning and compliance for clients in the real   estate, professional services and software fields. He has more than 19 years   of accounting experience.

Finalists named for Women in   Business awards
