S.C. vehicle-charging network to use green electricityPlug In Carolina received $35,000 from the Walmart Foundation’s State Giving Program to purchase green electricity and educational signage for the nonprofit organization’s 96 electric-vehicle charging stations across the state. The network will purchase electricity from sources like solar, wind, biomass and hydro-based electricity. USDA adopts S.C. energy-savings programThe U.S. Department of Agriculture announced a $250 million initiative that would offer loans to electric cooperative customers to make energy efficiency upgrades and repay them with savings realized on utility bills. The federal program is based on the Electric Cooperatives of South Carolina’s Help My House loan program. |
