Sonoco reports record sales in 2010
In its earnings report today, the Hartsville-based packaging company reported record 2010 sales of $4.1 billion, an increase of 15% compared with $3.6 billion in 2009. Net income rose to $201.1 million in 2010, compared with $151.5 million in 2009.
Sustained economic growth expected this monthIn its monthly outlook, Wells Fargo Securities pointed to consumer spending, equipment and software spending and nonresidential construction as positives. But it said the recovery is hampered by residential construction and municipal government spending.
