Thompson Construction buys Sumter   building

A 29,700-square-foot   fabrication shop at 879 Guignard Drive in Sumter has been sold for $825,000   to S.C.-based Thompson Construction Group. NAI Avant represented the seller   in the transaction.

Chestnut joins TD Bank as   commercial lending VP

Lonnie Chestnut is   responsible for developing and managing new and existing commercial loan   relationships with business clients throughout the Midlands. He has seven   years of experience, and most recently worked at BB&T in Savannah, Ga.

Two South Carolina banks change   hands

BNC Bank continued its   South Carolina expansion by acquiring Carolina Federal Savings Bank of   Charleston. Additionally, a Virginia-based bank entered the South Carolina   market by acquiring a North Carolina bank with branches here.

SCE&G nuclear project running   below budget

The Cayce-based utility   reported to the state Public Service Commission that construction costs of   two nuclear units at its Jenkinsville power plant are $292 million below the   cost schedule that regulators approved. Lower interest rates are among the   factors holding down costs, SCE&G reported.
