North and South Carolina end water disputeThe two states have reached an agreement over the use of water from the Catawba-Wateree River Basin, settling the lawsuit that South Carolina had filed against its northern neighbor and that was before the U.S. Supreme Court. Textile company expanding into York CountyThe PermaShrink Co. Inc. says it plans to invest $3.3 million in a new manufacturing facility in York County. The the company expects to create up to 16 jobs over five years. |

Businesses to file personal property taxes electronicallyStarting Jan. 1, all businesses with account closing periods of Dec. 31 and after must file online through the S.C. Business One Stop. Water main project set for Gervais StreetThe entire project encompasses Gervais Street from Huger Street to Trenholm Road and will be completed in two phases. The first phase of the project, to begin around Jan. 24, will be the Congaree Vista. |
Cheer, dance competition coming to ColumbiaThe event will feature more than 50 cheer and dance teams with athletes representing Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina. Nearly 1,500 spectators are expected to travel to Columbia to watch the teams compete. |
