Sherwood Forest, a neighborhood in the Columbia, South Carolina area, began to develop between 1940 and 1950 by the Belser family.  This wonderful historical community has a population of about 750 and is located near the more popularly known neighborhood of Shandon.  Bordered by Devine Street to the north, Beltline Boulevard to the east, Rosewood Drive to the South and Kilbourne Road o the west, this neighborhood is just minutes from I-77 and Fort Jackson Army Base.  With Columbia, SC’s central location in the State and with three major Interstate systems, to include I-26 and I-20, in addition to I-77, residents have easy access to just about anywhere in the State.  In less than 2 hours, residents can be in Charlotte, North Carolina, or Charleston and Greenville, South Carolina.  In less than 3 hours, residents can be in Asheville, North Carolina or Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.  Or in less than 5 hours, residents can be in Atlanta, Georgia.  No matter how you look at it, Sherwood Forest puts you close to everything!

Sherwood Forests location in the Columbia, SC area provides residents with walking access to the Midlands Technical College Campus on Beltline Boulevard.  As previously stated, residents are also just minutes from Fort Jackson Army Base.  A few minutes in the opposite direction, and residents will find several college campus’s in downtown Columbia, to include the University of South Carolina and access to many collegiate activities.  Also downtown, residents will find an array of Art venues, restaurants, shops, and even greenways along one of the three rivers that flow along the edge of town.  And Sherwood Forest is also a short drive to shopping in Five Points, on Devine Street, on Garners Ferry Road, and even along Forest Drive.  With its location between downtown Columbia and I-77, residents of Sherwood Forest are sure to find they have access to a large variety of both indoor and outdoor activities throughout the entire year.
