Gregg Park Neighborhood Columbia SCGregg Park is one of the most amazing neighborhoods in the Columbia, South Carolina area.  On land that was once part of the Fort Jackson Military Base, this community of 800 residents lies west of I-77 from what is now modern day Fort Jackson.  With easy access to I-77, residents can hop on the Interstate heading north and find themselves in Charlotte in an hour and a half.  To the south, I-77 intersects with I-26 placing residents within 2 hours of the beaches to the east and the mountains to the west.  In addition to I-77, the Gregg Park community is bordered by Quail Lane to the south and Forest Drive to the north.

Gregg Park was established in 1988 and currently has over 185 homes with the neighborhood providing a Country Club feel to a small community environment.  This private, gated community has homes that range in value from just under $380,000 to over $800,000.  Homes here range in size from over 2500 square feet to just under 5600 square feet.  Each of the homes in the community has its’ own personal appeal, with some having screened porches, Florida rooms, and even 10 foot ceilings.  Some even provide lake views.  Yet the entire community has some of the most magnificent landscaping in the Columbia, South Carolina area with each resident adding their own touch of nature to the communities acres of natural habitat.

The best part of Gregg Park is its safe, rural feeling in an urban setting.  To the west of the residential part of the community lies an 8 acre lake and close to 50 acres of undeveloped woodlands and wetlands.  Nature trails are available for residents who enjoy hiking and biking.  The community has its own clubhouse providing residents with access to lighted tennis courts, a swimming pool, and a pool pavilion.  This remote seeing is but minutes from a variety of places to eat and shop.  The Forest Lakes Golf Course is also nearby.  Drive a few minutes farther and find downtown Columbia which boasts of fabulous shopping and dining, as well as daytime and nighttime entertainment to include the Mast General Store, the Columbia Museum of Art, and the Koger Center for the Arts.   Living in Gregg Park provides you a remote location feel with the luxuries of urban existence just a short distance away.
