NAI Avant brokers $2.8M sale in Vista

The buyer paid a premium price for the parcel, which is zoned C3 for commercial, office and retail uses. Richland County values the 1-acre site with the building at $1.7 million.

State’s exports increase by more than 23%

Of the top product sectors, the one sector experiencing the largest percentage increase was cotton, yarn and fabric at an 89% increase, state officials said. And Canada moved ahead of Germany last year to become the state’s No. 1 export market.


Wells Fargo grants for 2010 include EdVenture

Wells Fargo & Co. donated $2.8 million to nonprofits in South Carolina in 2010, including a $135,000 grant to support distance learning across South Carolina through EdVenture.

Howden buys Thomassen Compression Systems

Howden Group Ltd., which manufactures air and gas handling equipment, has its North American headquarters in Columbia. The company has agreed to acquire the Dutch company Thomassen Compression Systems BV for $160 million.

Hills Machinery to open in North Charleston

Hills Machinery, the Case distributor based in Columbia, announced plans to open a new North Charleston facility at 7168B Cross County Road, on May 6.

Trident Technical College is hiring an occupational therapy assistant and academic program director in Charleston. The job requires a master’s degree in a related field plus certification as an occupational therapist or occupational therapist assistant, with S.C. licensure or the ability to obtain it.
