SCDOT to hold meeting on Assembly Street project

The South Carolina Department of Transportation has scheduled a public information meeting May 8 concerning plans to improve approximately one-half mile of Assembly Street in Columbia. The scope of the project is to provide pedestrian safety enhancements.

Congaree Bancshares boosts net income 33% in Q1

The Cayce-based holding company for Congaree State Bank reported that net income for the first quarter rose 33% to $519,010, from $389,702 in the first quarter of 2011. The increase was primarily attributable to an increase in net interest margin, the bank said.

 


Holloman named director of Township Auditorium

Aundrai Holloman is the new executive director of the meeting and entertainment venue in Columbia. Holloman will focus on boosting the public profile of the Township and highlight new programs planned at the historic venue. He is a graduate of Benedict College.

Providence Hospitals names president for foundation

Libby Anne Inabinet has joined Providence Hospitals’ Development Foundation as its president. Inabinet comes to Providence Hospitals from the American Red Cross where she served as the regional chief development officer for the Columbia region.

 

 


Conti reports revenue up 11.5% for Q1

The Germany-based automotive supplier expects demand in North America and Asia will counter an expected downturn in Europe. Continental intends to boost its sales by more than 5% to 32 billion euros or $43.2 billion in 2012.

Park Sterling reports profitable quarter

Park Sterling Corp., which acquired Greenwood’s Community Capital Corp. last year, reported today its first quarterly profit since the second quarter of 2010. The holding company for Park Sterling Bank said net income for the first quarter reached $1.7 million.
