Michelin to expand again in Lexington County

Michelin North America said today it will hire 500 people and invest $750 million in Anderson and Lexington counties to produce its massive Earthmover tires. Michelin will expand its Lexington plant to produce these tires, beginning production in October.

Reactor construction set to start at V.C. Summer

Work is ramping up as South Carolina Electric & Gas and Santee Cooper proceed with the $10 billion project to add two reactor units at V.C. Summer Nuclear Generating Station in Fairfield County. Company executives joined engineers and staffers Monday to celebrate the awarding of a federal license for the reactor units.

 


Hard Scrabble Road subject of DOT hearing

The meeting will be held Thursday night at Rice Creek Elementary School. The project scope includes widening Hard Scrabble Road to four travel lanes and adding a center merge/turn lane. The project will extend from Farrow Road to Kelly Mill Road in Richland County.

SRNS parent companies invest in computer network

The $1.5 million investment is part of a $30 million commitment by Savannah River Nuclear Solutions’ parent companies to reinvest profits that will benefit the Savannah River National Laboratory and SRNS operations at the Savannah River Site.

 

New markets workshop set for Walterboro

The Technical College of the Lowcountry and the South Carolina Manufacturing Extension Partnership will host the April 25 event. The workshop will offer information and strategies for manufacturing and distribution companies on how to develop market opportunities.
