Pfizer to sell Capsugel to KKR for $2.375 billion
Pfizer and Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co L.P. announced the agreement today. Capsugel has major operations in Greenwood, where it employs about 700 people.
SCE&G has spent $1.5B on two new reactors
There are currently 1,100 people at work at Jenkinsville in Fairfield County preparing for the two new reactors, and that total likely will rise to 3,000 in the peak construction.

Workforce, revenue agencies plan one-stop tax centerEmployment and revenue agencies have begun steps to collaborate on how taxes are processed for businesses in South Carolina. Both agencies are working to provide one place where businesses can go to pay all their state taxes, the agency directors said. Two new eateries coming to the VistaSalsarita’s Fresh Cantina and TCBY will be opening new locations in Columbia’s Vista in the summer. The new locations will occupy the former Cloud Nine specialty food and gift shop at 916 Gervais St. The Cason Group names new presidentWilliam Cason will take over as president of The Cason Group, and current president Louie Cason will become chairman of the board, effective May 1, the Columbia-based company announced. |
