Clyburn unveils $20M for S.C. job training


The U.S. Department of Labor has awarded $20 million to help train workers at South Carolina’s two-year technical colleges for new careers and provide job opportunities. The grant has been awarded to Florence-Darlington Technical College for the Accessible Support Services and Instruction for Sustainable Transition to Work program, which will be implemented by a consortium of community colleges and industry partners.

BB&T opens new Five Points Financial Center

BB&T has opened a new financial center at 2101 Blossom Street in Columbia’s Five Points commercial area. The 4,200 square foot facility offers services including checking and savings accounts; business, personal and mortgage loans; safe deposit boxes, investment services; and insurance services. BB&T named Allison B. Rapp as financial center leader.
