William Kristol, editor of the Washington-based political magazine, will join more than 250 business leaders at the South Carolina Chamber of Commerce’s 32nd Annual Summit, “Fast Forward: Defining the Next Decade.” The summit is scheduled for Nov. 9-11 at Wild Dunes on the Isle of Palms.

CertusBank buys investment brokerage

CertusBank announced during the groundbreaking of its headquarters Friday that it acquired Sage Southeastern Securities of Atlanta and plans to expand its presence in downtown Greenville. The bank will be a tenant at the Project One development that broke ground at Main and Washington streets Friday.

CU-ICAR receives $1M energy grant

CU-ICAR will be home to one of seven U.S. Department of Energy GATE centers of excellence in the country. The centers focus on hybrid propulsion, energy storage and lightweight materials. The five-year GATE program will fund curriculum development, expansion and laboratory work at CU-ICAR.
