The state’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate rose to 11.1% last month from 10.9% in July. Manufacturing employment was up for the seventh straight month, however, and government, business and professional jobs also increased.

The Upstate SC Alliance is seeking to hire a marketing research manager. The position will manage all research efforts, including compilation of data; and development of presentations, websites and marketing collateral.
