House sends Amazon tax collection exemption to Haley

The S.C. House of Representatives gave final approval to a hotly contested incentive for Amazon.com, a provision that will give the Seattle-based national internet retailer a five-year exemption from collecting sales taxes on purchases by South Carolina residents.

Charleston developer to renovate McCrory’s on Main

Franklin Adams of Adams Development Co. in Charleston plans to redevelop the 31,000-square-foot, three-story building at the corner of Main and Taylor streets in Columbia for office and retail use.

S.C. mayors, Haley discuss economic development

Upstate power company to operate hydroelectric facility
