Newberry nursing school receives national accreditation

The nursing program at Newberry College, approved by the Board of Nursing for South Carolina in 2009, has received national accreditation through the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education.

SCANA Corp. to webcast financial analyst meeting

SCANA Corp. will webcast a meeting with financial analysts to be held at 8 a.m. on June 16. At that meeting, SCANA’s management team will give an update on their nuclear plans and discuss the company’s business strategy and financial performance.

Treasurer Curtis Loftis said credit rating agencies are concerned about the state’s obligations to the state retirement system and that the state might not make an $89 million payment to keep the system in line with current guidelines.
