Amazon tax exemption still dividing General Assembly

Rep. Dan Cooper said the House’s rejection of the sales tax collection exemption for Amazon is putting another large Upstate project in jeopardy. Sen. Larry Pickens said that Amazon never had a guarantee of the exemption and that the vote shouldn’t hurt the state’s economic development prospects.

Congaree State Bank makes financial turnaround

Holding company Congaree Bancshares Inc. reported first-quarter net income of $389,702 for the quarter ended March 31. That compares with a net loss of $63,983 for the same quarter in 2010.

 

Solar workshop coming to Columbia next week

Job of the Week

Trident Technical College is hiring an occupational therapy assistant and academic program director in Charleston. The job requires a master’s degree in a related field plus certification as an occupational therapist or occupational therapist assistant, with S.C. licensure or the ability to obtain it.
