Westinghouse open to partner with NuHub alliance

The company that developed the AP1000 commercial power nuclear reactors being built in South Carolina, Georgia and China said it is interested in a partnership with nuclear interests in the Midlands to apply for a federal grant to build a prototype small modular reactor.

Rolled Alloys setting up operation in Chester County

The $3.7 million investment is expected to generate 24 new jobs. Rolled Alloys provides stainless steels, nickel, cobalt and titanium alloys. This marks the second economic development announcement this month for Chester County, Commerce Secretary Bobby Hitt said.

S.C. home sales picture brightens in February

New listings in South Carolina decreased 7.2% to 8,228. Meanwhile, pending sales were up 16.9% to 4,653 in February. South Carolina Realtors CEO Nick Kremydas said the report reflects what should be a very positive first quarter for the real estate industry.

NAI Avant closes 375-acre land deal

The 375-acre tract on Bluff Road near Columbia was purchased by a long-term timber investor, according to NAI Avant brokers. The transaction was valued at $882,353.

Pulitzer Prize winner to give lecture at USC

David Cay Johnston, a nationally recognized reporter in investigative journalism, will share his trade craft for reporting on business and government on March 21 at USC. His talk, set for 6:30 p.m. in the School of Law auditorium, is free and open to the public.
