Open House at The Little Gym

Lexington Gym - Sat, August 27th 1:00-4:30pm Columbia Gym - Sun, August 28th
2:00-6:00 pm

Since 1976, The Little Gym has fostered experiential learning through physical programs that provide opportunities for kids to explore their own potential and to better understand and enjoy the world around them. Since the beginning, we have emphasized Serious Fun through a progressive curriculum, in which each success builds off the last. All of our programs are divided into themed, multi-week Learning Units that lead to a natural progression of skills throughout our Core Season, into our Summer Session and from one year to the next. The coordination and confidence that enable your baby to first crawl across the mat, lay the foundation to master a somersault at age three, try a handspring at age six, and assert leadership skills both in the gym and throughout the community. Our open houses help parents to assess our facilities, our instructors and our programs. Please stop by one of our gyms during Open House and we'll show you around! The Little Gym website.

Recommended Shopping Destination: Pupcakes Pet Boutique

Open Monday- Saturday 10am-6pm

Personally, I'm poochless. But if I had a dog, I'd be shopping at Pupcakes in Five Points every week. A way to a dog's heart is through his/her tummy. The cookies and pupcakes are so cute and incredibly delicious-looking, all handmade by Marie and staff on-site. Go in there one day and watch them delicately apply the decorations to cookies sporting "Prince" or "Diva" or to little cakes decorated for the season. In addition to the tasty treats, you'll find a selection of doggie toys, collars, leads, beds and accessories. You're going to love it! Print a 20% off coupon for an item of your choice.

Save the Dates! Town Theatre Presents South Pacific
September 9, 2011 - October 1, 2011

Ten years ago this month, Town Theatre opened its 83rd season with the musical blockbuster South Pacific and, after a mammoth opening weekend, America as we knew it was forever changed by 9/11. Immediately thereafter, each performance of the 2001 South Pacific was dedicated to the First Responders and all Americans devastated by that day’s events. The cast and audience joined hearts and hands in singing “God Bless America.” Additionally, Town generated more than $3,500 that was given to the local Red Cross for relief efforts. As our nation remembers this day on the tenth anniversary, Town Theatre will again offer South Pacific as our way to commemorate and remember. Indeed, we will never forget. Please join with us in a fundraising effort to benefit our local First Responders and to acknowledge those in our audience as well as all men and women who have or are serving in our military. The show’s timeless tunes – “Some Enchanted Evening,” “I'm Gonna Wash That Man Right Out Of My Hair” and “Bali Ha'i,” – alone are worth the price of admission. However, the classic story from the Golden Age of American Musical Theatre will enchant those who have loved it for years as well as those experiencing it for the first time. Visit the Town Theatre website for additional info.
