Columbia’s SleepMed merging with Florida company
The Columbia-based sleep diagnostics and therapy provider, and Watermark Medical, which provides home sleep technology services for the diagnosis and treatment of sleep breathing disorders, announced plans to merge. The new SleepMed will maintain dual headquarters in Columbia and West Palm Beach, Fla.
Conference to offer updates on SMR business
The two-day Small Modular Reactor Conference at the Columbia Marriott is expected to draw 350 nuclear power generation executives from global utilities in North America, Europe and Asia.
Construction jobs up 3% in S.C.
An analysis of federal employment data shows that 2,500 more people were employed in the construction industry in February compared with a year ago. However, the Associated General Contractors of America said the revival could be short-lived.
Haley proposes infrastructure pool to fund road repairs
Gov. Nikki Haley proposed Thursday the creation of a state infrastructure pool to fund repairs and improvements for state roads. She said without improved infrastructure, recruitment efforts and businesses already operating in the state will be impacted.
Mermec leased space at 110 Queens Parkway, West Columbia, for its state headquarters. Jewelry Warehouse also is relocating from its Platt Springs Road store to Parkland Plaza in Cayce.
