S.C. hospitality group changes name, appoints president
The S.C. Hospitality Association named John Durst as its new leader. The group also announced it changed its association name to the S.C. Restaurant and Lodging Association as it works to rebrand itself following embezzlement by its former bookkeeper earlier this year.
Park Sterling reverses quarterly loss
The Charlotte-based bank holding company reported a quarterly net income of $620,000, compared with a year-earlier loss of $1.4 million. Park Sterling Corp. also authorized a stock repurchase program.
Pee Dee Nephrology opens Florence office

Tire maker marks 10th anniversary in the South
As Michelin and Continental ramp up production in South Carolina, Italian tire maker Pirelli recently marked its 10th anniversary in Roma, Ga. The 400,000-square-foot facility serves as Pirelli’s North American headquarters and can produce 1,800 tires a day.
