Key leaders from the S.C. Senate and House of Representatives said Tuesday it’s unlikely the state’s share of taxes on gasoline will be hiked during this Legislative session despite funding woes in the state Department of Transportation.
Charleston, Columbia and Greenville reported increases in residential home sales last month compared to December 2010. Statewide, residential home sales dropped 1.6% for the month, with 3,595 home sales compared to 3,652 sales in December 2010.
Container volume was up 1.2% during the 2011 calendar year, the S.C. State Ports Authority reported Tuesday. The SPA said during the first half of the fiscal year, container traffic was down less than one-third of 1% as the global economy remains flat.
