Palmetto Health introduces stroke   diagnosis system

Reach is a Web-based   telemedicine service used for remote evaluation and diagnosis of stroke. The   service is currently available at Fairfield Memorial Hospital. Palmetto   Health said it plans to extend the service to other South Carolina hospitals.

Clemson surpasses fundraising   goal, seeks more

Clemson University said   it surpassed its goal of raising $600 million in private funds and is now   seeking $400 million more. The funds support scholarships and professorships   as well as facility and technology upgrades. There were more than 201,000   gifts made to the campaign.

 

 

         
   

   

S.C. vehicle-charging network to   use green electricity

Plug In Carolina received   $35,000 from the Walmart Foundation’s State Giving Program to purchase green   electricity and educational signage for the nonprofit organization’s 96   electric-vehicle charging stations across the state. The network will   purchase electricity from sources like solar, wind, biomass and hydro-based   electricity.

USDA adopts S.C. energy-savings   program

The U.S. Department of   Agriculture announced a $250 million initiative that would offer loans to   electric cooperative customers to make energy efficiency upgrades and repay   them with savings realized on utility bills. Ohio firm hires EagleEye   Analytics

The Columbia-based   provider of predictive analytics solutions will partner with Buckeye Mutual   Insurance Group to reconstruct the company’s auto policy rates. The carrier   said it selected EagleEye because of the firm's expertise and technology.

Nominate a Health Care Hero

Columbia Regional   Business Report will pay homage to the health care field at an awards dinner   in October, honoring volunteers, nurses, doctors, researchers, first   responders and others who touch lives in the Midlands. The deadline to nominate a Health Care Hero  is Aug. 3.
