S.C. vehicle-charging network to use green electricityPlug In Carolina received $35,000 from the Walmart Foundation’s State Giving Program to purchase green electricity and educational signage for the nonprofit organization’s 96 electric-vehicle charging stations across the state. The network will purchase electricity from sources like solar, wind, biomass and hydro-based electricity. USDA adopts S.C. energy-savings programThe U.S. Department of Agriculture announced a $250 million initiative that would offer loans to electric cooperative customers to make energy efficiency upgrades and repay them with savings realized on utility bills.
