Airport commission holds off   action on parking fees

A staff report found that   the Columbia Metropolitan Airport would lose about $467,000 a year if it cut   long-term surface parking rates in an effort to match Charlotte-Douglas   International Airport. Columbia’s long-term surface rate is currently $8 a   day.

SMR industry wins backing of   Haley, SCE&G

Gov. Nikki Haley said   South Carolina wants to do all it can do to show federal officials that the   state backs development of small modular reactors. Haley and an SCE&G   executive offered support for Holtec, which seeks to develop SMR technology,   at a news conference today.

  South Carolina improves credit   quality in latest ranking

South Carolina showed the   second-highest rate of improvement in credit quality among the 50 states in a   new report. Conning Inc. cited improvement in the state's government general   fund balances, employment and a lower foreclosure rate.

Bluestar opens manufacturing,   R&D facility in S.C.

The global silicones   manufacturer relocated its two U.S. manufacturing facilities from Ventura, Calif.,   and Rock Hill to the 226,000-square-foot building in York County. Bluestar   plans to double its global sales over the next five years from this location.
