Chamber aims to raise $500K for   base-saving efforts

The money, which will   come from local governments and the private sector, will cover expenses   related to the Greater Columbia Chamber of Commerce’s efforts to stay on top   of Pentagon plans for military bases. The city of Columbia and Richland   County have already contributed more than $100,000 to the campaign.

City clears way for student   housing at Palmetto Center

  S.C. Insurance Department awards   testing contract

PSI Services LLC will   provide computer-based test administration for the S.C. Department of   Insurance at seven test centers in South Carolina. The California-based   company has been developing and administering examinations in South Carolina   for the Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation since 2002.

NAI Avant lands Dollar Tree   leases in Southeast

  Manager: Facility most advanced   in global wind industry

Jim Tuten, the project   manager for the wind turbine test facility at the Clemson Restoration   Institute in North Charleston, talked about the project’s design, goals and   functionality at an international conference on wind energy in Atlanta this   week.

Sonoco puts new product on the   market

The Hartsville-based   company developed the radial crush tester so it could help customers prevent   failures during the winding process and optimize tube designs. CMRTA launches new all-day pass

         
   

   

The Central Midlands   Regional Transit Authority will be rolling out its new all-day passes on   Monday to help ease bus fare expense for frequent riders and encourage new   riders, too. The pass will allow riders access to all fixed route service for   only $3.50 per day.
