Starbucks to build Ga. plant, expand Sandy Run facility

The Seattle-based coffee company plans to open its Augusta plant in January 2014 and employ 140 workers. Expansion of the Calhoun County roasting plant is planned for later this year. The company plans to add six new employees at Sandy Run.

Continental sets groundbreaking for Sumter tire plant

The tire manufacturer plans to invest $500 million in building a 1-million-square-foot facility near Sumter. Continental plans to open the plant in early 2014. In the first phase, the facility is expected to reach production capacity of 5 million tires per year by 2017.

Gold Cross Ambulance to occupy W. Columbia building

The industrial warehouse building is at 3275 Sunset Blvd. in West Columbia. NAI Avant senior broker Lee Marsha represented the landlord in the 7-year lease transaction.

Site of PGA Championship named top course in S.C.

The Ocean Course has been named the No. 1 golf course in South Carolina by the S.C. Golf Course Ratings Panel. The group picked the site of the 2012 PGA Championship as the top golfing spot for 2012 as it unveiled its top 50 places to play golf in the Palmetto State.
