City design panel approves 2 dorm projects, 3rd on hold
The Columbia Design/Development Review Commission signed off on Core Campus’ plans to paint the 20-story office building that once served as SCANA headquarters, and green-lighted another dorm planned for the Innovista Design District. A third dorm proposal was put off until a court rules on a procedural issue.
Highland Center office park sells for $1.45M
The Highland Center Professional Park in northeast Columbia has been sold for $1.45 million to an undisclosed purchaser. The park is near Interstate 77 and the Providence Northeast Hospital campus.
Panel OKs plans for new IHOP on Assembly
The city's Design/Development Review Commission green-lighted plans to replace the existing International House of Pancakes across from the Statehouse with new 4,000-square-foot building that will seat about 164 customers.
SCE&G slips to No. 4 on customer satisfaction survey
The Cayce-based utility, principal subsidiary of SCANA Corp., received a score of 672 out of a possible 1,000 in J.D. Power and Associates’ annual ranking of business customers’ satisfaction among large electric utilities in the South region.
Columbia lobbying firm extends lease
Kelley McCain Smith & Owens has been a tenant of a 12-story office building at Lady and Main Streets for 13 years. Colliers International’s Boyd Summer and Tommy Johnson brokered the lease extension.
