S.C. State officials try to turn page on corruption
Cynthia Warrick, S.C. State’s interim president, said the school had one question for its auditor: “‘Were there other persons involved still on campus?’ She assured me that all individuals are no longer here.” However, board Chairman Walter Tobin said more indictments may be forthcoming after one former university official pleaded guilty in a fraud scheme, and a former board chairman was indicted in the same case.
Design panel OKs turning Palmetto Center into dorm
The city of Columbia’s Design/Development Review Commission approved the downtown dormitory project, but questioned a paint job for the 30-year-old office tower. It also agreed to rehear a developer’s plan to redevelop the Palmetto Compress warehouse into a dormitory.
Lexington eatery gets new ownership
