Former CFO sentenced in Doctors Care fraud case

Jerry Francis Wells Jr. was sentenced to 78 months in prison to be followed by three years of supervised release. Wells will also be required to pay restitution of nearly $3 million.

Lawmakers seek to repeal point-of-sale tax

The lead sponsor of the legislation is Sen. Paul Campbell, R-Goose Creek, who is joined by Senate Majority Leader Harvey Peeler, R-Gaffney. The Senate bill would eliminate point-of-sale resets of taxed values.

Sonoco announces base price increase for reels

The global packaging manufacturer said that rising costs of wood, steel and fuel are driving up the cost of their products and that the company will increase the base price of its nailed wood reels by 23%.
