NuScale, NuHub to partner on small modular reactors

In a step to accelerate deployment of modular, scalable nuclear technology and boost economic development, the two entities will work together to pursue a small modular reactor project at the Savannah River Site. NuHub is also negotiating with another small modular reactor company for a second partnership, and will announce that agreement soon, an official said.

Accuride to expand Camden plant, add 25 jobs

The Indiana-based company, which last June acquired the 80,000-square-foot Camden plant from Forgitron Technologies, plans to invest about $8.7 million and add two machine lines at the Camden facility to expand aluminum wheel production.

 

Ross Stores to open new facility in York County

Over five years, the retailer’s new 1.2 million-square-foot facility is expected to generate about 600 new jobs. The company already employs about 1,200 in York County.

Small business lending in S.C. up by $50.5M

S.C. banks have increased their small business lending by $50.5 million since receiving capital through the Small Business Lending Fund, according to a report by the U.S. Department of Treasury.

Fort Jackson marks arrival of 45th commanding general

Brig. Gen. Bryan Roberts, a 29-year Army veteran, officially assumed command Tuesday of the Army’s largest training center from Maj. Gen. James Milano, who is retiring. About 25% of all soldiers that enter the Army each year take basic combat training at Fort Jackson.
