Airlines add 2 flights out of Columbia to N.Y. area

Delta Airlines plans to begin a second daily flight out of the Columbia Metropolitan Airport to LaGuardia Airport beginning July 11. On Sept. 6, United Airlines will begin offering flights two days a week to Newark Airport in Newark, N.J., which also serves the New York area.

BMW launches annual supplier-diversity conference

BMW Manufacturing is launching its first supplier-diversity conference April 12 at Clemson University’s International Center for Automotive Research in Greenville. The event will connect minority- and women-owned businesses with more than 40 Tier 1 BMW suppliers.

 

 


Boeing exec expects first S.C.-built 787 to finish in April

The CEO of Boeing Commercial Airplanes said the company expects to finish the first North Charleston-built 787 by mid-April and deliver the plane in June, offering the most specific timeline so far for the Dreamliner’s completion in South Carolina.

Wells Fargo pilot program offers free credit report

Wells Fargo will provide customers in South Carolina free access to their credit score as well as a copy of their credit report through April 15. The bank is offering the program as consumer confidence is on the upswing and there’s growing demand for credit.

 

S.C. ranks No. 5 in region for development deals

Site Selection, a national publication that tracks economic development, reported in its March edition that the Palmetto State finished 2011 with 110 announcements of new facilities or the expansion of existing plants. North Carolina was ranked No. 1 in the South Atlantic region, with 311 announcements.
