Group aims for Midlands angel investor network

To get the network started, a conference will be held Oct. 13 at the SCRA-USC Innovation Center at 1000 Catawba St., on the university campus in Columbia.

Columbia’s 1301 Gervais tower sold

Jackson, Miss.-based Parkway Properties Inc. has sold the 20-floor tower at 1301 Gervais St. in Columbia for $19.5 million. In-Rel, a Lake Worth, Fla. company, is the buyer.

Pure Power aims to grow S.C. operations

Pure Power has 400 employees in South Carolina. The 200,000-square-foot Blythewood plant makes a variety of fuel injectors and valves for diesel engines used to power commercial vehicles. In addition to its Blythewood operations,the company has facilities in Indiana, California, Kentucky and Wisconsin.

Regent Bank in Greenville sold

Bank of North Carolina steps foot into the Greenville market with its acquisition of Regent Bank-SC. Regent, a subsidiary of a Florida institution, launched in Greenville in 2009 and later opened a headquarters building on McBee Avenue.

80 Clemson employees accept incentive packages

Eighty Clemson University employees have accepted incentive packages to leave their jobs this month. Thirty-four employees chose retirement and 46 decided on the voluntary separation packages. The money saved will be used on infrastructure and maintenance.

Education Inc. is seeking a part-time special education-certified teacher at a medical facility in Charleston. The position features daytime hours and no minimum hours of teaching.
