Wells Fargo makes charitable gifts, stages parade

Wells Fargo brought its iconic stagecoach and team of four horses to Columbia’s Main Street today to mark the rebranding of its former Wachovia stores. Wells Fargo also announced $165,000 in charitable gifts.

Irmo man sentenced for defrauding trailer leasing firm

Gary Lee Gillion, 51, of Irmo, was sentenced in U.S. District Court to 33 months in prison, after being convicted in June for conspiracy to commit mail fraud in connection with a trailer-leasing scheme.

Clemson University’s wind energy test facility could help South Carolina take wind industry

Elizabeth Colbert-Busch of the Clemson University Restoration Institute said the Palmetto State’s mix of manufacturers, offshore wind capacity and Clemson’s state-of-the-art wind testing facility put South Carolina in a leadership position in the wind energy industry.

SBA grants help small businesses export

The U.S. Small Business Administration is providing $202,669 in grants to South Carolina small businesses to help increase exports. This is a portion of the $30 million in grants nationwide. It will provide support to firms that will include market research, travel and interpretation.

USC hosting Career Fest for job-hunters

Some 150 employers are expected to be on hand to interview 800 job-seekers.

The Gel Group Inc. has an opening for an analyst in training in its radiochemistry laboratory – liquid scintillation prep lab.
