South Carolina already is strong in its forest products and nuclear clusters, but Harvard Business School professor Michael Porter said the state needs a new way to think about economic development.
The new 260,000-square-foot building will include a 500-seat auditorium, 25 classrooms, meeting rooms, plus faculty and staff offices. The anticipated completion date for the $91.5 million facility is December 2013. The building will be designed to generate as much energy as it consumes, school officials said.
Personal income growth was a tick higher in South Carolina for the second quarter of 2011 than the national average of 1.1%, according to data released today by the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis.
