USC research funding hits record $226.9M

Research funding at the University of South Carolina grew to a record $226.9 million in fiscal year 2011, a 3.7% increase over last year’s record of $218.8 million.

DMV to offer free rides for those needing picture ID

Gov. Nikki Haley said the program could counter criticism of the voter law – which she supports – that it will suppress voting among seniors and poor people who are more likely to not have a picture ID or lack transportation to the local DMV office.
