Rogers Townsend & Thomas PC named J. Geoffrey Osborn Jr. to lead the new Upstate office, set to open in January. The law firm currently employs more than 65 attorneys at offices in Columbia, Charlotte, Charleston and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
Debra A. Turner, who joined WebsterRogers LLP in a merger in 2000 and has served as partner-in-charge over the firm’s Charleston and Summerville offices since that time, will take over as the top executive for the Florence-based company on Jan. 1.
The Department of Defense awarded SensorTech and other companies for their participation in the Prosthetics and Orthotics Manufacturing Initiative. The Upstate company helped create prosthetics that were lighter and reduced manufacturing costs.

The state received $2.38 million for taking steps to simplify enrollment of children into Medicaid and the Children’s Health Insurance Program. This is the first time South Carolina met the eligibility requirements of the federal bonus program.
