Conducted by the Manufacturing Performance Institute, the study found that manufacturers must determine if they have the workforce, business systems, equipment and strategies in place to successfully compete in the future.
The Hartsville-based company, said net income for the third quarter rose to $77.2 million, from $59 million in the same quarter 2010. Third-quarter sales were $1.12 billion, up 7% from $1.05 billion a year ago.
The increase was driven by significantly improved credit quality and solid performances across all lines of business. Net revenues totaled $2.2 billion this quarter, up approximately 28%.
